First of all, I would like to thank the organisers, my teachers for giving me the opportunity to establish intercultural contacts and meet foreign students. I would like to thank my host family too. Angela, her parents and her grandmother for their very kind hospitality and their warm welcoming.
Erasmus trip in Spain was very enriching on an academic level (I spoke english and spanish, I learnt more about green jobs) but also on a personal level (It was the first time I travelled without my parents).

    Goda (Sunday, 23 April 2017 10:21)

On March 18-25 four students and a teacher represented Kėdainiai šviesioji gymnasium in Erasmus+ project “Green jobs for our planet Earth". The representatives were Valdas Kupčinskas, Goda Ivaškevičiūtė, Morta Liutkutė, Kazimieras Dovidas and their teacher Gitana Kaupienė.
The goal of this Erasmus+ project was to enable teenagers discover the new range of jobs generated by the implementation of sustainable development in their school area or across Europe and help them widen, enrich and update their career plans.
During the project we were introduced to Spain’s waste management and sorting system. We spent the week by listening to lectures, participating in classes and discussions, communicating with our new friends from England, Martinique, Romania, Norway, Germany and of course Spain. Before going to Spain, we’ve prepared a presentation about “Daumantai LT” production and about local store “Muilažolė” and its organic output.
During the week, we learned a lot about Spain. We had a chance to visit castle of Loarre, which is sited near the France–Spain border. Construction of this fortress was started in XI age and is considered as the oldest fortress of Spain. Since we were living near Zaragoza, we spent a lot of time there and we have visited a lot of beautiful places. Living with Spanish families gave us a chance to get to know countries’ culture not as an outsider, but as a part of the family.
The beauty of the country, nature, locals’ hospitality and smiles left only good memories. We got only good impression of Spain and took fond memories about this country and people to our country – Lithuania.
    Lithuanian team 

This trip was very interesting and very constructive , it was great ! it also allowed us to deepen our knowledge bases and our focus. Spain is a beautiful country and the food is very good and varied . Our correspondants were very welcoming and very sociable . We were able to visit the city and these many monuments . But this experience also allowed us to account for the environmentale impact and all the waste we throw away without sorting . trip with Erasmus + is a unique great experience

    ian.kell (Sunday, 23 July 2017 06:38)

Half way through the project, I think our students have found this a really interesting opportunity. So often we think of green jobs as just being in the local park or of being badly paid or of being low skilled. This project has challenged that prejudice. The web site is growing steadily and Estelle is doing a fabulous job of managing it.

It is also impressive how many hits the web site is registering

The twin space is linked to the comment, please take the opportunity to visit and if you can log in and leave a comment there so much the better.

This project is proving to be a truly remarkable and interesting one, a wide variety of work and a lot of challenging activities. Have a great summer break friends.

I forgot to write how amazing was our visit to Newcastle and Peterlee. When we arrived at Shotton Hall, we all thought it was a smart hotel. How lucky they are to have such a new and modern school with so many interesting things on the walls.
We were staying in Durhem, which is a wonderful town. We also enjoyed visiting the mines, the wind companies, The Raby castle and the thematic town. Thanks a lot Ian for your effort.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Norway in short.
